The work involves responsibility for the strategic direction and management of both information systems and technology infrastructure throughout the organization. An employee in this class oversees the integration of business systems, applications, and underlying infrastructure while directing cross-functional technology initiatives that align with organizational objectives. Administrative supervision is exercised over technical and professional staff. The Director develops and implements technology roadmaps, governance frameworks, and adoption strategies with general direction from executive leadership. The position works collaboratively with the Director of Cybersecurity and Business Continuity to ensure security measures and business continuity plans are appropriately implemented. Work is reviewed through regular reports, conferences, and achievement of desired outcomes. Does related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
- Develops and executes comprehensive technology roadmaps encompassing both applications and infrastructure.
- Establishes governance frameworks for system development, infrastructure management, and technology standards.
- Evaluates emerging technologies and determines appropriate adoption strategies aligned with Organizational goals.
- Oversees system integration across diverse platforms and technology environments.
- Ensures scalability, reliability, and security of technology infrastructure and applications.
- Manages vendor relationships and contracts for enterprise technology services and solutions.
- Directs the planning and implementation of technology infrastructure including networks, servers, and cloud services.
- Leads cross-functional technology initiatives that span multiple departments and technical domains.
- Collaborates with division directors to align technology solutions with business requirements.
- Develops and manages budgets for enterprise technology initiatives and infrastructure investments.
- Establishes key performance indicators and metrics for technology operations and project outcomes.
- Provides strategic guidance on technology architecture and infrastructure design decisions.
- Implements disaster recovery and business continuity plans for technology systems in coordination with the Director of Cybersecurity and Business Continuity.
- Directs the evaluation and selection of enterprise software solutions and platforms.
- Develops policies for technology lifecycle management, including refresh cycles and deprecation.
- Reviews and approves cybersecurity and business continuity recommendations from specialized staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university to grant degrees with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field, and seven (7) years of progressive experience in technology roles; or,
B. Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university to grant degrees with an Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field, and nine (9) years of progressive leadership experience in technology roles.
