DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS

 

The work involves responsibility for the organization and security of legal documents and records stored in vaults of the Onondaga County Clerk. Vault

Attendants work under the direct supervision of the Records Preservation

Supervisor and must follow prescribed procedures to storing, filing and

retrieving documents. An employee in this class typically exercises no

supervision over subordinate employees. Does related work as required.

 

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES

 

Stores, files, and retrieves documents and records according to prescribed procedures.

Organizes documents and records to maximize use of vault space.

Controls entry to vaults and admits only authorized persons.

Polices vault areas and cleans and sweeps as necessary.

Ability to understand agency filing system.

Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.

Ability to perform light to moderately heavy laboring tasks.
