The work involves responsibility for performing non-judicial services for a Town or Village Justice. Under the general supervision of a Town of Village Justice an employee in this class maintains order
in the courtroom and carries out orders of the county Court Attendant positions are classified as non-competitive positions when filled on a part-time or seasonal basis. Does related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES
Maintains decorum in courtrooms by opening courtroom doors, turning on lights, arranging courtroom furniture and placing legal materials on judges' benches.
Maintains order in the courtroom.
Complies with requests of the presiding judge.
May convene and recess court.
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
Ability to read and write.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions pertaining to the nature of job assignments.
Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
